Abstract:
The chronopotentiometric stripping analysis (CSA) with mercury film working electrode has been
optimised for selenium determination in deaerated solutions. The accuracy of the developed technique
was confirmed by analysing a standard reference material (durum wheat flower) and by means of
recovery assay. Detection limit of 0.5 μg/dm3 was obtained for electrolysis time
of 600 s. The proposed method was applied for selenium determination in whole, partially dehulled,
and totally dehulled sunflower seed after wet acid digestion.
