From 1 September 2020 – as a main rule- foreign nationals are not allowed to enter Hungary in passenger traffic according to the government’s decision.
There are reasonable exeptions though safety measures must be kept. An exemption under the main rule can be given by the police for example: attendance in Hungarian court procedure, or in proceedings instituted by a public authority, business activity justified with a letter of invitation, participation at family events (weddings, christening, funeral), at international sport or cultural events of great importance, accomplishment of study obligations.
Czech, Polish and Slovak nationals are allowed to enter Hungary after the 1 September 2020
a) if they can prove that they have a reservation in Hungary until the 30th September 2020 at a Hungarian quarter at least for a day, and this reservation was made before 1 September 2020 and
b) they have the confirmation of a negative SARS-CoV-2 PCR test - adequate to the professional healthcare rules- made not later than 5 days before entering Hungary and the result is justified with documents in English or in Hungarian.
